Welcome to Homie

If you’re already living in, or preparing to move into the property and have recently been informed that Homie is now your landlord, welcome! We’re excited to have you with us.

We know that any kind of change can raise questions. This section is here to explain exactly what’s changing (and what’s not), what you can expect from us, and how we’ll support you moving forward.

Your tenancy agreement still stands, and your rights as a tenant remain fully protected. We’re simply stepping in to make sure your home is well looked after and that you have an easy, reliable way to get support when you need it.

The property has been sold by the previous landlord to a new owner. The new owner is TKO Homie HMO Ltd and from the 12th January, the property will be managed by Homie Management Limited ("Homie"). Homie is a student housing company with properties in Newcastle, Durham, Manchester & Leeds
The agreement that you signed under the previous Landlord is still valid and legally binding. Nothing changes on your end. Even your rent amounts and due dates stay the same.
Yes. The way you make rental payments has changed. Firstly, any payments made to the previous landlord at the point of the handover will be transferred to us. Please cancel any Direct Debit or Standing Order to the previous landlord going forward. Details on how to make rental payments to Homie will be shared via e-mail.
You'll receive details via e-mail on how to set up rental payments to Homie. We use a platform called Concurrent, and here you can set up either a Direct Debit or bank transfer from the platform itself. The payments dates and amounts that you've agreed in your contract has been moved over, and this will be reflected in the platform.
Your deposit is being transferred to us and will be released in full at the end of your tenancy, subject to all of your rent being paid and the house being left in a good condition, in accordance with your tenancy agreement. You'll soon receive confirmation that the deposit is being protected in a Government-approved scheme.
The way repairs are reported will have changed. As Homie now handles all repairs, you will need to follow the new process by reporting issues through our Maintenance platform - Click Here
We should receive as part of the handover a list of any outstanding requests, if there are any. However, feel free to use the link  to log the request with us directly.

Introducing your Regional Property Manager

We’ve got a dedicated Regional Property Manager (RPM) looking after your house (and a bunch of others nearby). They’re your go-to person for anything property-related.

Your RPM handles things like:
- Making sure the house is safe, compliant, and in good condition
- Organising repairs and maintenance
- Supporting you through check-ins, check-outs, and everything in between
- Helping with any tenancy questions or issues

They’ll be visiting the house now and then for inspections or just to check in. Don’t worry - they’ll always let you know in advance.

If something goes wrong or you’re not sure who to speak to, your RPM is the one to contact. They’re here to help make your stay smooth, safe, and stress-free.

    Friendly staff! Everyone's super accommodating & leazes provides great amenities :) Location might be far from centre but you've got everything you need nearby like Iceland & halal shops. They're quick to respond to any issues as well.

    I love living here, it’s the best place I’ve lived at since starting uni! So worth the price, it’s close to campus but also in a quieter area and it’s so pretty in the seasons too. The management are so lovely, they always got the extra mile to do things like decorate for Halloween and Christmas and are always friendly faces too! I could not recommend this place enough, the gym and social spaces are great for studying or relaxing and I love my room so much, it’s so spacious and I’ve not had any issues since living here!

    Our house owner is John and since moving here he has been nothing but really supportive. Any problem we’ve had is managed to fix in QuickTime. We’ve had issues and he’s always been respectful and not rude. He’s always nice to us and he’s always supportive when we come to him with an issue. The site as a whole is also really easy to work your way around and reporting issues have been easy to do. So far it has been very successful.

    Been here my full uni life and I have to say I've had zero problems. Staff are caring, reliable and overall incredible for any needs. Wouldn't have went anywhere else and I recommend for anyone looking for a uni home.
